Galatians 4

3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:
4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

Before Christ

• In bondage
• Under the elements of this world
• Under the law

After Christ

• Adopted as sons
• God's Spirit is in our hearts
• Heirs of God

Jesus Fulfilled Prophecy

• The details of Christ's life were prophesied.
• Matthew 1:22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, 23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Christ Brought Fulfillment to Us

• Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end . . .
• Wonderful Counselor - He gives us His wisdom.
• Mighty God - He shows us His power.
• Everlasting Father - He reveals to us His care.
• Prince of Peace - He provides His wholeness.
