Getting back is the hardest part of traveling. Packing isn't so bad because at least you have the anticipation of leaving. While you are gone, there isn't anything you can do about the work building up at home. But getting back . . . that is a different story.
Unpacking is not fun. Finding where you stuffed all your clothes in order to get the suitcase closed. And then all the clothes are dirty clothes. Next you are hit with a barrage of the things have broken, need attention, need picked up, need handled, need, need, need... If you get past that you have the mail. It would be so nice to be able to have a junk mail filter for your snail mail. By now you are exhausted, and you haven't even started getting your work caught up. So what is the payoff? While it is nice to get away, being home with your family is the best. That is one of the payoffs -- recognizing how precious a boring night at home really is. It's good to be back.
Blessings!
