1 Samuel 18:14-15

 14  And David behaved himself wisely in all his ways; and the LORD was with him.
15  Wherefore when Saul saw that he behaved himself very wisely, he was afraid of him.

Responding to Correction 

  • David responded by repenting.
  • Psalm 51

Responding to Offense 

  • David was not hindered by the actions of others.
  • Psalms 119:165  Great peace have they which love thy law:  and nothing shall offend them. 
  •  Luke 17:3-4  Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent forgive him.  {4}  And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day. and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.

Responding to Power 

  • David showed honor.
  • Romans 13:1  Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained ofo God 
  • David showed mercy when we became the king. 

Responding to your Enemy's Misfortune 

  • David showed compassion
  • Matthew 5:44 ... Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;   

Responding to God's Presence 

  • David made a place for God.
  • Revelation 3:20  Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
