Firehouse Purpose

It is our sincere desire to connect teenagers with the body of Christ. Our weekly youth services are filled with variety, but ultimately it's all about hearing the Word of God and allowing Him to work in our lives. Once a teenager experiences Jesus Christ for themself, we want to see them established in their walk with the Lord and become an active part of His Church.

FIREHOUSE exists to:
Equip youth for
Rescuing the endangered!
We will Respond to the call and
Lay our lives on the line to
Reach out to others!!!

" Rescue others by snatching them from the flames of judgement" Jude 1:23 (NLT)

Is there more to Firehouse than just "church?"

YES! The Wednesday night youth services include many variations each week. We always try to mix it up so that every week is different! Sometimes we have preaching, but there are also skits, video clips and movies, small groups, student testimonies, games, and prizes. The goal of each service is to create an atmosphere where teenagers can come and hang out with their friends, have some fun, and encounter GOD.

Aside from Wednesday night, there are also group outings. Some of these have included Cardinal baseball games, bowling, walley-ball, mini golf, go-carts, eating out, skiing, and lots more!

A couple of BIG events we do each year are the annual road trip to Kansas City Youth Conference and our summer youth retreat.

One of our goals as a youth ministry is to build relationships; teens with other teens, teens with adults, and teens with Jesus Christ.

It is our firm belief that true ministry can only flow through relationships! All of our events and activities are built on this goal.

What about Parents?

It is never our desire to come between teens and their parents. Teenagers NEED their parents more than ever before! Firehouse Youth Ministries has an open door policy for all parents. Although our primary focus is on teenagers, parents are welcome to sit in on any youth service, attend any of our events, and help chaperone our outings.

Currently, the leadership team for Firehouse is mostly made up of parents and adults who love working with teenagers.

Ministries

Audience of One

Ao1 - Youth Praise Team

AO1 leads us in worship each Wednesday night during our youth service. Led by Chris Singleton, the rest of the team is composed of high school students, including piano, guitar, drums, and singers.

Currently the team is composed of Paige Maynard (piano), Nathan Brand (guitar), Josh Bailey (drums), and singers: Erica Stewart, Rachel Connor, and Matt Woodson.

Small Groups

Groups meet at least once a month at the church. After a time of corporate worship we split into groups according to a student's grade in school. During this time, we are able to have a more open setting so students can ask questions and discuss the guided Bible study. It also enables students to get to know other teens better.

Heirborn

This is our "chase" team. When new students come to our youth service, we want to treat them as welcomed guests. Heirborn will follow-up with each new student to answer any questions they may have, get to know them so they will have a connection to Firehouse, and to encourage them to come back.

Heirborn is also key to reaching out to students who may be "MIA," missing from Firehouse services. The Heirborn team will call or visit to see if there are problems that can be solved and encourage those students to stay connected with the church.

Code Red

Drama Team

This group of teenagers uses drama to minister the message of Jesus Christ. Their talents are used in skits and human videos (a performance tied closely to a song or music).

Code Red is sometimes used to add to a message that is being preached, or as a stand-alone message in itself. The main objective is to present the Gospel in an entertaining and relevant way that will reach the hearts of teens.

Code Red occasionally performs in the main services of Calvary Life Church.
